Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of roomtreatment.diy, operated by Ferenc Deli Szilagyi, an independent developer based in Hungary. The plain version: use it to design your rooms, do not abuse it, and remember that the simulations are careful estimates, not a guarantee about your real room.

Accepting these terms

By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What the service does

roomtreatment.diy models room acoustics and helps you plan speaker, seat, and treatment placement. Results are simulations and estimates based on the information you provide. They are not professional acoustic engineering, and real rooms vary because of construction, furnishings, and materials. Use your own judgement, and for critical work, measure your space.

Your account

• You are responsible for activity under your account.
• Provide accurate information and keep your password confidential.
• Tell us promptly at contact@roomtreatment.diy if you suspect unauthorised use.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break the law or infringe anyone’s rights while using the service;
• disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service;
• reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the service except where the law forbids us from restricting that;
• misrepresent the simulator’s output as a professional acoustic certification.

Your content

You keep ownership of the rooms and designs you create. You grant us the limited licence we need to store and process them so we can provide the service to you. If you share a room link, anyone who has that link can open that room in read-only form, so only share it with people you trust.

Our content

The site, its software, design, and branding are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property law. Do not copy or reuse them without permission.

Paid plans

Some features require a paid plan. Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Subscriptions are charged in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly, depending on the plan you choose) and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments already made are non-refundable.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. In particular, we do not warrant that simulation results will match real-world measurements of your room.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decisions, purchases, or construction you undertake based on the tool’s output. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or EUR 50.

Termination

You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached, or if we need to for legal or security reasons.

Changes

We may change the service and these terms over time. When we change the terms we will update the “last updated” date above, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, and the courts of Hungary will have jurisdiction over any dispute, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in the country where you live.
