Editorial policy
Every published page on roomtreatment.diy names who wrote it, and every technical page names who reviewed it. Numbers come from our engine, not from a writer's estimate.
Who writes our pages
Every published page names an author. Technical pages, calculators, guides, glossary terms and material entries, also name a reviewer.
Author and reviewer bios, roles and credentials are listed on one page and linked from every byline, so you can check who stands behind a claim.
How pages are drafted
We use AI language models to draft page text from source data: the engine's own calculations, our reference list, and existing pages on the site. We disclose this plainly rather than hide it.
A person edits every AI-assisted draft before it goes to review. A draft is a starting point, not a finished page.
How every number is produced
No number on a published page is typed in by hand. Worked examples run through the same solver code behind the room editor, and the result is what appears on the page.
Automated tests compare each page's numbers against the code that produced them. A test fails if a page and the engine ever disagree.
Human review
A credentialed acoustician reviews the physics and factual claims on every technical page before it is published.
The reviewer's name and the review date are shown on the page itself, next to the author byline.
Updates and corrections
If you find an error, factual or otherwise, please contact us. We read every message and correct confirmed errors promptly.
A page that changes materially after publication gets a new updated date and, for technical pages, a fresh reviewer sign-off.
Independence
We do not accept payment for placement, and no advertiser influences what a page says or how a product is scored.
Some product links on this site are Amazon affiliate links, and we may earn a commission on a purchase made through one. This does not change which products our engine recommends or how we describe them.
