What is the 38% Rule?

Placing your listening chair at 38% of room length from the front wall avoids major room mode peaks and nulls. This spot gives the flattest low-frequency bass response in rectangular rooms.

Speaker Boundary Interference (SBIR)

SBIR happens when sound from the back of your speaker reflects off the front wall and cancels out forward sound. To minimize SBIR dips, place speakers either closer than 0.2 m (8 in) or farther than 1.0 m (3.3 ft) from the front wall.
