Questions about the Stage 250B's center speaker
- What center speaker should I use with the Stage 250B?
- One from the Stage 2 series, such as JBL Stage 245C: it is the closest tonal match. Any other center will connect and play; it may not blend as smoothly across dialogue and pans.
- Can I use a different brand's center speaker with the Stage 250B?
- Yes. Any center connects and plays. 19 centers from other lines are listed above under "Other centers that work".
- Does the center have to be the exact same model as my front speakers?
- No. For the closest tonal match it only needs to be from the Stage 2 series. The front left and front right should be the same model as each other.
- Why does the center speaker need to match the fronts at all?
- Dialogue and on-screen sound pan between the front left, center and front right speakers. A center voiced differently from the fronts can make that pan audible as a shift in tone, which is why manufacturers design a matching center for most of their speaker series.
